Prices averaged €135.06/MWh over the last 30 days, and the daily range is widening

Daily baseload, with the shaded band showing each day's low to high. Volatility, not level, is what a battery earns from.

Average price by hour of the day

The midday dip is solar pushing the price down in exactly the hours it generates. That gap is why capture price sits below baseload.

Why capture price, not average price

Solar sells all of its output into the middle of the day — precisely the hours in which it has pushed the price down. Its capture price is the volume-weighted price it actually achieved, and it is the number that belongs in a revenue model. The average price is not.
